Nail Art stamped its mark on New York and London’s runways in 2012 and Nail Trends look set to dominate the beauty pages well into 2013.
Milk Beauty loves beautifully painted paws more than anyone so we’ve taken some time out to answer our big nail question:
What nail trends should we watch out for in 2013?
Here are the Big Nail Art Trends we have put our money on for 2013…
All that Glitters…
Glitter Nail Varnishes and Metallic Nail Varnishes were seen in abundance down the runways and are a great way to see us through the dark evenings of winter into spring.
Glitter across the whole nail can look a little dated, but the catwalks showed us some great ways to keep the look fresh and modern. Here are our favourites:
Metallic varnish feels fresh and clean. And they work on weekdays if you pick a gentle bronze or pale pink.
Glitter Nail Tips
Just ask your nail technician to drag glitter over the tips to create an undone feel to your manicure.
Feel that Texture
Textured nails were big in 2012. New takes on the theme including OPI’s Liquid Sand will keep us on our toes (boom boom!) well into 2013.
Matte French Manicure
Incorporate texture by contrasting matte nails with gloss tips – a deliciously chic update on the French Manicure!
OPI Liquid Sand
Matt finish with embedded glitter – available at Milch in a few weeks!
Two Tone Rules
Geometric Nail Art
Try leaving nails pale or clear with a slash of bright. This is one of our favourite looks!
They take a good nail technician but they are gorgeous and well worth it…
Getting into Shape
Go with the style that suits your hands and fingers we say, but here are how the models filed their nails before hitting the catwalks.
This is a fashionista style and a little like Marmite – love it or hate it!
Short and Snowy
Nudes and Snow Whites are great on short nails, easily maintained and smart for the office. An all-round crowd pleaser!
